Birding in Southeastern Arizona and Bisbee

Birding is spectacular near Bisbee!  We are within the Sky Island region of southeastern Arizona which is one of the most biologically diverse areas in North America, where the temperate and tropical zones meet, and North America’s two major deserts convene. The San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area (20 mins) where the San Pedro River still runs under huge cottonwood trees, over 250 species of birds, wonderful hiking trails, beavers, deer and more!

Kartchner Caverns State Park (520) 586-2283  Call early to make your reservation for their tours.  Beautiful! just off HWY 10, as you come down from Phoenix or Tucson. (45 mins from Bisbee)

Chiricahua National Monument [1hr.15 mins from Bisbee] A Wonderland of Rocks are amazing for a quick hike at 9,000 ft.      http://www.nps.gov/chir/index.htm

Chiricahua Mtns / South Fork Road [ 1 1/2hr. from Bisbee] are where you can find Trogons in the Spring - Summer, blue throated hummers, so many birds!
